Get the Right People on the Bus - Drive Somewhere Great

After a great evening on the pitch where we played some excellent football again scoring 6 goals we have further great news today.

Northants Community Foundation have approved our Grant Application and awarded the Foundation £3000 to invest further in the facilities for the team. It has taken several months to get to this stage as we have needed to fully establish the Hawks Foundation and its vision and become established at our new ground.

It is also with grateful thanks to our local MP Philip Hollobone who made the initial contact with the Northants Community Foundation and suggested to us we get in touch with them to request support for our vision of making a difference to our youngsters lives through Sport for All played in the right spirit. Phil as you know and the other Ise councillors also assisted us with Kettering Borough Council Funds of £925 in the spring.

Without our success in the Lloyds Community Awards this would not have been possible as this raised the profile of the work we do and we have Matt Osborne who nominated us to thank for this and our friends and the committee at the Cricket & Sports Club for being so welcoming and supportive to the team and our future plans.

The funds will enable us to invest in a Sit on Mower, nice Storage facility with patio area around the pitch to serve teas, coffees and snack as we welcome people to watch us.

We have had so many nice compliments about our new set up, facilities and values from the visiting teams and this final step will give us all we need for the future so it is an important step. Richard West from Santander also supported the application with references - it has been a complicated effort but we are finally there.

Most important is that with the excellent other sporting opportunities on site and many of our youngsters taking advantage of these we are truly helping provide a Gold Standard to our youngsters second to none in the Kettering Football community in order to help them develop as people, leaders for the future and young sportsmen who play fairly and in a sportsmanlike way. This attitude makes us clearly stand out with our aspirations and what we stand for.

This is something we are proud about - A real vision to help young people through the power of sport with many individuals helping and committed to this project in and around the team and Hawks Foundation.

Our fundraising has helped secure and set up 2 pitches by becoming members and being the Football Section of the Kettering Sports & Cricket Club, we have invested in goals and equipment to play and secure a future home at the oldest and nicest sport club site in Kettering. We can now ensure these grounds are maintained so we can play on the best pitches in the league. We will be looking for help with groundwork for our project so please get in touch if you can help

We are committed to using existing funds from bag packing and social activities to pay for new kit and Andy Elliott of Ultima Displays has also kindly agreed to assist with flags and a banner for us and our designer Kevin Ford of Blue Sky Visuals is helping with art work for these.

Its a good team and good time to be part of the most forward thinking Football and Supporters Organisation in the area who want the best for grassroots chidrens sport.

Thanks to all concerned for making these dreams a reality and our existing supporters and sponsors CTP who have been kit sponsors since we established.

Get the right people on the bus - drive somewhere great.
